This class (Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance) is a research based balance training program for people at risk of falling and with balance disorders designed by Dr. Fuzhong Li from the Oregon Research Institute. Although its origin can be traced to the simplified 24 form routine, it represents a shift in the application of Tai Ji Quan, moving the focus from its historical use as a martial art or recreational activity to promoting good health by addressing common, but potentially debilitating, functional impairments/deficits.
